Sound Therapy and Didjeridu
SOUND THERAPY has been used as a healing modality for thousands of years. As long as humans have consciously created sound, the stimulating and sedating affects of sound have surrounded us. All is vibration, vibration can influence other vibrations, and intent behind the source of vibration can create a true environment for healing.
The didjeridu (a wind/percussion instrument also known as the yidaki) begins its life as a seed, grows to be a tree, becomes host and food for the white ant (termite), and then is transformed into an instrument for the music making and songs of the Yolngu, an Aboriginal people of Northeast Arnhemland, Australia. The journey of this instrument and the sound that it creates make it a perfect tool for grounding an individual on a healing journey.
The complex harmonics and repetition of rhythms on the didjeridu, when played over the body, may reconnect us to our divine nature, and entrain our resonance to frequencies of balanced energy. The busy chatter of the mind is quieted, allowing us to immediately access deeper states of consciousness or meditative states. In this state of being, your path to healing yourself is less cluttered. We are resonating, as is everything surrounding us.
